Shepshed v Eagles 0-0 Asfordby started well with a move from Oates to Brown finding Phillips in space on the right with a well struck shot hit the post. Shepshed had their own share of the ball but man of the match keeper Bullimore was on form coming off his line early to deny their chances. A counter attack from Asfordby found Oates one on one with the keeper but the shot was blazed wide. The first half became stretched towards the end with chances from both sides. Second half saw the Eagles change positions with Brown going up front and Sharp dropping into defence. Chances for Brown soon came with a well delivered corner from Oates but Brown was unable to reach. Carr crossed the ball back only needing a touch from Brown to put it into the net. Phillips created a chance coming from midfield which was deflected up by the keeper, Oates pressured for the ball nearly getting his reward. A good solid team performance by Asfordby earning a well deserved point. Eagles Team- S Brown, C Bunn, C Carr, E Oates, G Phillips, J Bullimore, R Sharp.

Asfordby Eagles 4 v 2 Sileby Stallions Asfordby started well with excellent passing through the midfield. Oates and Phillips dominated in the middle keeping possession, pressuring for the ball. Five minutes gone and a break from deep in the Asfordby half caught Sileby with Phillips passing to Bunn for a one two, Phillips crossing for Oates to score a well placed goal. The pressure was kept on by the Eagles and another move from Oates to Sharp to have a shot deflected for Phillips to hit the rebound, Sileby's keeper could not hold and the ball crossed the line for the 2nd. Another attack from Asfordby coming from the midfield found Oates in space for another well taken finish. There was little attacking by Sileby but when they did Mcartney and man of the match Carr dealt with well. Second half saw much of the same from the Eagles giving Sileby no time on the ball. Brown came on for Phillips and made an impact straight away with slotting a through ball to Oates for him to complete his hatrick. Sileby crept back into the game with some pressure of their own. A fine shot was pushed over by keeper Bullimore to give a corner. The corner was taken but not cleared giving Sileby their first of the game. Two minutes to go Asfordby were caught on the counter with three onto two leaving Bullimore with no chance of a save. A good all round performance by the Eagles. First half saw Asfordby have plenty of chances. A well delivered corner from Oates onto Brown heading just wide. 2 minutes later and another corner to Brown glancing past the the post. Eagles pressed for much of the half with good chances from Oates and Brown.
An attack from Meridian caught Carr out of position and keft Mcartney with two players to deal with but Carr recovered and blocked a good effort from the striker. Asfordby conceded a goal by a lack of concentration from the defence, keeper Bullimore did all he could to keep the ball out but the shot was to powerful. The Eagles quickly replied with a marauding run from man of the match Phillips only to be brought down in the box for a penalty. Captain Oates stepped up struck the ball at the keeper but hitting the rebound, scoring in the bottom corner. Second half and Asfordby carried on with the same determination. The game became stretched with tired legs in the midfield. The action was end to end with Asfordby not scoring their numerous chances. Sharp came on and made an impact linking well with Oates and Phillips but just could not find the back of the net. Meridian took advantage of the tired Eagles and scored another three in quick succession. MOTM - Phillips

Syston attacked but to be stopped by Bunn only clearing to the midfield. A good first time effort caught Eagles keeper Bullimore off his line to bring the score even. Asfordby Eagles 0 v 6 Shepshed Hawks
Asfordby started positive from kick off with an attempt on goal by Sharp and a long range effort from Oates. Early pressure by Shepshed from a corner and the Asfordby defence not clearing quick enough produced an early goal for Shepshed. The Eagles could not get hold of the ball in midfield to play the way they have in previous games. An early cross in from the wing and an excellent header put the away team two in front. Once again Asfordby did not clear their lines putting keeper Bullimore under constant pressure and conceding again just before half time. Second half and The Eagles lifted the tempo. Attacking from the right, Bunn put in a fine cross for Sharp to be denied off the line. Man of the Match Bunn broke The Hawks attacks up to play the ball into midfield allowing Oates and Carr to link up to put Phillips through but Shepshed defended in numbers to deny. Shepshed attacked on the break with Asfordby again not clearing the ball from the defence, letting in three more easy goals. An uncleared corner had Barrow capitalise with a goal before half time.
Asfordby continued the second half with high tempo and good posession spreading the play. A counter attack from Barrow with one shot had keeper Bullimore beat at his near post. At the other end Sharp beat the keeper but to have his shot cleared off the line. Eagles kept playing with spirit. Carr on for Sharp and McAree on for Mcartney gave the Eagles their second wind. A Maurading run from man of the match Phillips down the right, beating three players and scoring through the keepers legs gave Asfordby their deserved goal to make it 2v2

Eagles 1 Houghton Rangers 7 First half saw two quick goals from Houghton, there were attempts at goal by Oates and Brown but were just wide, Eagles played well but Houghton looked the stronger side, Eagles keeper Bullimore made some great saves stopping Houghton getting more goals. Second half saw two quick goals from the kick off from Houghton but Eagles defenders Bunn and McCartney were seen to be defending well, a good attempt at goal from Brown saw it go just short of the net and Houghton then went on to get their fifth goal, great passing from Danaher and Oates allowed Brown to score but Houghton still managed to get two more goals. Eagles were starting to look like the stronger side but were unlucky not to have scored more goals. Eagles played very well as a team and took a lot of positives out of the match although the score did not represent the level of good playing form the Eagles side. A strong start from Asfordby had Syston on the back foot with quick passing from Oates and Phillips opening up the Bullets defence. Oates had two shots one after another saved by the keeper. Half way through the first half, the pressure from Eagles paid off when Oates scored from 20 yards. Constant possession from Eagles and further quick passing from Phillips to Oates down the left gave Captain Oates space to run at the defence, crossing the ball for Carr to finish for the 2nd. Bunn and Mcartney held the defence well with Bullimore in goal having little to do. Second half saw Bullets start strong. Eagles attacked and claimed a corner with Syston breaking out three on to two with a goal to show for their efforts. Eagles had an effort from McAree thwarted by good defending from Syston. Another corner for Eagles saw Bullets break quickly again with three onto two resulting with another goal for the Bullets.
The last 5 mins saw end to end action and good football from both teams. Danaher down the right passing to Oates to put in a fine cross for McAree but unable to connect.
A good all round display by the Eagles for the first league game of the season.
Final Score: 2v2 MOTM: Phillips Eagles Team- C Bunn, E Danaher, J Bullimore, G Phillips, E McAree, W McCartney, C Carr, E Oates.
