Ady Reading is the Manager of the Under 16s and is a qualified F.A. Junior Team Manager Level 2. Ady is CRB tested.

Ady Reading, Richard Mayfield, Sarah Mayfield, Steve Houghton, Mike Catlin and Eileen Reading have completed the F.A. Child Protection Course.

Until the end of the 2006-2007 season, Eileen Reading was the Club’s Welfare Officer.

Richard Mayfield and Eileen Reading are fully qualified first aiders.

Ady Reading and Mike Catlin have completed the F.A. Emergency First Aid Course.

Leics Youth League U16’s Premier Div - Asfordby Amateurs 2 – 1 Saffron Dynamo

Up against last seasons champions Amateurs demonstrated grit, skill and determination to take all the points. On 10 minutes from a Josh Baker corner Tom Uttley’s header hit the bar and in the melee that followed Amateurs won a penalty which was not converted by Patrick Reading.

On 30 minutes Ollie Heaver sent a ball though for Tom Wheeler to score with a low right foot to the corner of the opposition goal.

Into the second half the visitors pressured but the back line of Catlin, Uttley, Baker, man of match Matt Porter and keeper Sam Mayfield held firm. On 64 minutes Matt Houghton sent Chris Payne through to double the lead with a right foot shot which the keeper got a hand to but could not stop. 10 minutes later James Porter was only prevented from scoring by an excellent save. With only five minutes left Saffron pressured and were rewarded with a goal but it was too little too late as Amateurs chalked up a satisfying result.

Asfordby Amateurs 1 – 1 Caldecote Foxes

The newly promoted visitors came with a point to prove and set off in good style scoring after only 4 minutes. After this Amateurs realised that they had a game on their hands and were forced to increase the work rate and effort. 

Both sides put together some good attacking and defending during the half but on 32 minutes Chris Payne and Patrick Reading worked a deft one / two into the box with Payne finishing confidently to level the score.

During the first part of the second half  the game remained evenly balanced but as play went into the last fifteen minutes Amateurs began to dominate the midfield and subsequently produced a number of good chances for Tom Wheeler, James Porter and Patrick Reading.  Despite getting very close on a number of occasions time ran out with the fixture finishing all square.

Asfordby Amateurs 3 – 2 Blaby & Whetstone

With last season’s record against the visitors a disappointing 3 - 0 including a cup defeat Amateurs clearly demonstrated improvement with a hard fought but well earned victory.  

On 8 minutes an Ollie Heaver long throw came off the bar for Patrick Reading to score with an overhead kick from 8 yrds out.

Varied formations between the teams in central midfield made for particular hard work for Kieran Foster and 11 minutes later Tom Blanchard leveled with a well struck ball from 20 yrds out.

With some positional reorganization Amateurs countered the threats and 13 minutes into the second half Tom Wheeler sent Reading through with a perfect ball to regain the lead.   

5 minutes later the forward duo partnered up again resulting in a hat trick for Reading.  The visitors pressed hard to get back into the game but the defence held firm assisted by a particularly good performance from Tom Uttley. With 2 minutes to go Liam Burden did get through to score but the clock ran out with Amateurs the winners.
